Fitness gaming or gamercising is becoming more and more popular. The newest product that is to be released in the spring of this year for the Wii is EA Sports Active. Two active contributors to the game Bob Greene (known for his work with Oprah Winfrey and The Best Life) and Carmen Bott(a strength and conditioning specialist) have worked to create a workout program that is fun and motivating while at the same time giving your body the physical activity it needs.
This product has a lot of really cool features that make it great right out of the box. It comes with two leg straps that hold the controllers for a real tracking of the movement of both your upper and lower body. A resistance band is also included to increase the intensity of certain activities. The unique design of a customized 30 day challenge allows you to utilize the virtual trainer and the games ability to create unique 20 minute circuits that vary daily based upon your fitness standards. Like the Wii Fit the game tracks your calories burned, intensity and overall progress.
The games motto is a healthier you in 2009 with sub focuses on motivation, keeping on track and committing to a healthier you. I think that a motto and guidelines will really help people stick with it and take time to care for themselves and really make an effort to become healthier in 2009.
